Dwayne Kent Singleton On Galveston, Texas

Dwayne Kent Singleton, a highly successful Oil and Gas industry professional, was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised on Galveston Island, Texas. While many people may have heard of Galveston, relatively few of those who have have actually had the opportunity to visit the city, which is composed of Galveston Island and Pelican Island.

Dwayne Kent Singleton, who has more than 30 years of experience working in the Oil and Gas industry as a specialist in numerous areas, such as Land Acquisition, Project Finance, Energy Project Analysis and Investment, and others, attributes much of his early familiarity with and love of the ocean to growing up in the coastal city of Galveston.

Galveston, says Dwayne Kent Singleton, is a relatively small city that is only about 210 square miles in size. According to Dwayne Kent Singleton, the population of Galveston, Texas is just under 50,000. According to Dwayne Kent Singleton, the city was named after a Spanish military leader named Bernardo de Gálvez, and the city’s first settlements were erected by a French Pirate named Louis-Michel Aury.

Growing up, Dwayne Kent Singleton remembers visiting the Port of Galveston, which is also known as the Galveston Wharves. According to Dwayne Kent Singleton, the Port of Galveston, which had once been one of the busiest ports in the country, began as a trading post in 1825.

Today, continues Dwayne Kent Singleton, the Port of Galveston serves as a terminal for passenger cruise ships and is the home port for two Carnival Cruise Lines vessels (the Carnival Conquest and the Carnival Ecstasy) that operate in the Caribbean.
